Delicata Heirloom Winter Squash all so know as “POTATO SQUASH” - (Cucurbita pepo)
Fruits are 6 to 8 inches long and 3 inches in diameter. Perfect for serving 1 or 2 people. Very sweet heirloom variety that is regaining in popularity and easy to store for the winter months. Introduced in 1894, this variety is excellent for baking pies or just baking as a dish or stuffing them. This squash are small and cylindrical, 7 9 in. long with 3 in. diameter, ivory colored skin with dark green along the ribs. Flesh is deep orange, tender, with a rich, sweet, potato like flavor. Good for storage. Vine plants A long peanut-shaped squash with a cream colored, green striped, thin outer skin and a golden, fine-textured, inner flesh. Popular heirloom favorite from the 1900's due to its corn sweet potato flavor. Will grow up to 12” long and weigh as much as 2 lbs. It’s best to pick them the stem dries up and cure less you want to eat them fresh in the summer. Leave 1-2" of stem on all your winter squash for good storage. 100 days
