Plant Type: 1 Indian Zebra Heirloom Tomato Plant From Arkansas
My research into this Indian Zebra Striped Tomatoes from South Arkansas took many years before I released them. Locating and researching Natives American Vegetables is our Priority here at Angel Field. My research on identifying this Indian Stripe variety was solved when Carolyn Male let me join her in growing in a hypothesis facts finding analogy of many Heirloom Tomatoes Plant study last year. It was very clear that her seeds fit the characteristic of the Arkansas Indian Zebra, with Potato Leafs, known for years as “Indian Zebra” by its original grower, Clyde Burson. It seems to me that Mr. Burson’s Relatives from Texas: grew them out in a different environment, changing the leaf shape as regular leaf, rather than potato leaf with fewer stripes. I am thankful Ms. Male was able to include me in her project in 2014 to solve the mystery of this pure Native American Historical Heirloom Tomato. The green strips are very clear to the eye, than the Indian Stripe Heirloom from Texas. Here at Angel Field Farm we use protective covering to keep our pure varieties from crossing as soon in this picture of the Indian Zebra. The taste is outstanding and the usual shape is very uniform with their stripes.
