This United States heirloom variety originated here in the U.S. and was saved and listed by the USDA. We here at Angle Field Farm grow them all winter long in the window ceilings in cow pots. This plant is still producing long wrinkled fruit that that turns from green to red. They are produced in concentrated sets which makes for good canning and drying. Good growing on patio, apartments, and desks. A plus growing in the garden Native Americans have used cayenne (Capsicum annum or frutescents, or red pepper) as both food and medicine for at least 9,000 years.
